In this section you can create a journal of the progress of your garden. Feel free to talk about your garden, post pictures, and explore other's journals Very Happy

I started one, but I'm not certain it's in the right place. Feel free to move it if it's not!

It's the right place Smile Hope others start journals as well so we can all admire one another's work.

Yes...you see so many lovely sights as you go about watering, it would be lovely to have some captured. I only learnt about screenshots yesterday though...!! Taking screenshots of EVERYTHING now bounce

Is it OK to post a comment in someone else's journal? What's the etiquette??

i was wondering about that, i s'pose it's nice to know that someone's taking an interest but at the same time i thought they could be locked from replies, i felt i'd rather post a PM than post on anothers journal, i am reading them with interest, all both of them^_^
how would you prefer it to be?

If we comment in the journals, they may end up getting rather cluttered and the flow will be lost. Maybe a separate thread for comments might be more appropriate, maybe even a separate comment thread for each journal?

Hm, I'm not really sure yet what is the best option. I'll keep thinking (and you all should too!) and figure out what we should do.

hmm, i do like the "clean" feel of the journals but can see a need for comments:/
well, it's very nearly my bed-time so i'm sure i'll have no problem sleeping on it, though i must say i don't know what the options could be^_^

My immediate reaction to Laura's was to say how lovely the Valentine's pictures looked. Then I thought, "no, it's not your journal"!

I'm not sure what would be best, but it will be nice to be able to comment somehow, somewhere. Bed for me too now. Night night. Sleep

Maybe we could start with a separate thread* for journal comments, compliments and discussions --and if then rethink that approach if one thread gets too cluttered. Start simple and see how it goes?
Cool

*So only garden owners post in their garden journal.

ahh, right, i've just had a thought about this, it went along these lines:
we could have another thread for the comments that would be linked to within the journals, this thread could be secreted somewhere so as possibly to be only viewable via a "comments" link.
the main problem with this though would be setting it up in such a way as to make it easy for everyone to set up a "comments" link. i would be happy to send PMs with the link in them to be copied into the journals... hmm more thought required perhaps...Sad

I expect that is a brilliant idea...if only I could work out exactly what you mean Crying or Very sad

It's lovely that the journals are taking off now though. I'm so glad I learnt how to take a screenshot!

Hi all! Very Happy Let me know if this new arrangement is too hard to navigate. I tried to make it simple, but I'm not sure I succeeded.
