Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
I'm going to plant Lunas too, when I have harvested my Carminas and planted the Opis Centiflora. I was visiting a garden recently where it was entirely Lunas in fruit, but no badger came, and then the owner harvested them all after one entire lot of food was gone. I was very disappointed and hope I will keep mine a little longer. It seems a shame to go that trouble and then give up!
I think I am very lucky arriving at the bonsais imminently....it will be possible for me to have some serious attempts at attracting interesting creatures while I am waiting for the trees to grow.
Sorry, this did start out as a comment on your garden, but turned into a general ramble!

I love Bellis Lycaenas too!
Oh, and I hope you do plant some Luna Serenas, 'cos they are also one of my favourites.

Ha ha, that's okay nicolle, I love rambling! It can make for a long conversation but it is always interesting and often fascinating to see where it all ends up!
I would like to think that I could outlast more than 1 platter of food just for the chance to see a badger in my garden. After all I have all my required Butterflies so will have enough space to keep the Lunas going till I need to make room for the Birds etc, fingers crossed anyway!

haha I love that you're a compulsive rearranger! I just realized about a month or two ago that you could move the plants within your own garden... I felt somewhat stupid that I had gone so long without noticing the arrows

A belated Happy Birthday!
And three cheers for the Brown Bunny!

Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
Thank you April! I am very excited about the bunny, who would have thought a virtual rabbit could bring so much joy!
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
Well done with the tortoise! I've been trying so hard to find one, but no luck yet! And happy birthday for yesterday, I guess.
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
Your garden is looking great and soooo tempting for badgers that one even came along and no-one saw him. My excuse is that it was about 3am here....what's everyone else's? You went to work???
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
I was doing a night shift, so yup - I was at work.
What a shame, I would love to have seen that wee badger.

Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
I was helping look for a very important Lego piece for my son's creation and considering how many of those blocks he has (in 3 huge tubs) it was a major mission. I was gutted when I saw the badger had been and gone in the brief time I was away from the computer!
But then I remembered, the Lunas will be staying for a while and Connor made the most fantastic looking truck! So it wasn't really a big deal
(Well okay, maybe just a little one )

I have to admit that the daffodils look good in the eggshells and your whole garden is looking pretty. Bring on that bunny!
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
Yes I love your daffs too - have you girls noticed that the flowers move too? I thought mine was facing a different way before and I checked out Nicolle's image of my garden and indeed it was facing a different way to how it is today.
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
You are very observant, Liz. I hadn't noticed them moving at all. How many have you had...
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
I hadn't noticed but my son did comment this morning that my daffodil was different from yesterday? I told him he was imagining things.........might owe him an apology!Liz wrote:- have you girls noticed that the flowers move too?
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
Big congratulations on the tortoise coming along and being spotted by a pal!
It's good news for you about the fruits, although I was looking forward to seeing you grow a pineapple, as I never achieved that myself

Lovely to see a picture of your badger! Though for a second I was expecting to see spots on his coat ... "spotted badger" ... Maybe one of the new critters?
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
has anyone ever told you that you have an evil streak Linda?!nicolle wrote:

Hee hee April, I never thought of it that way, it does sound rather like a pattern on the badger's fur! I imagine there's a fair few such critters in fairyland already!
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
How sad is this...I have dreamt about the new wildlife, not once, but twice. The first time it was an elephant and one other creature that I can't recall now...it paled into insignificance, obviously, beside the elephant. And the second time it was some kind of a spotted cat. I probably arrived at that partly because of my own spotted cat, Claud, and partly because of the way we use "spotted" in relation to finding something.
That's my confession then. Anyone else want to make one??

Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
I think your garden looks lovely, but I don't understand you saying that...it's got one of those horrid fruits in it??!!
Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
I think I congratulated you on the Red Squirrel arrival on Facebook, but here's another cheer for good measure!
Awesome work!

Nice pic of your gems!
I felt bad too when I harvested mine so quickly. I want to take some 'time out' at some stage and plant all the Praecocias at once. It would mean no room for a wildlife food table though.

Re: Comments, Suggestions and Observations
That is a pretty shot and, I agree, the sun rays look good against the blue, but the butterflies are still my favourite fruit.
As I said to you last night, I think we need a creature, or a family of creatures, such as lizards, which enjoy basking in the sun and would be attracted by them, then we'd see them about more.
And, while we're on the subject, I'd like a magpie, which would be attracted by the sparkly gems, and a Valentine's lovebird, attracted by some heart like flower.

Oh, the butterflies are still my favourite fruit too! I came across a garden recently with all seven butterflies.....it was an incredibly beautiful garden and I actually took a few minutes to admire it, instead of rushing off to the next one. Seven fruiting solaris ignifloras wouldn't be near as lovely, I think they are more of a garden enhancer!
I just love your ideas for new critters, Linda. I think you should put them in the suggestions section of the Fairyland forum (if you haven't already done so!)
