Wildlife Levels
Has anyone else noticed this new wildlife ranking we have been assigned? Seen on our Fairy profile wall? It appears to be based on the number of diamonds we have been rewarded for both spotting and attracting wildlife. When you click on the info on your own fairy wall, the last sentence says this..
Right now, Wildlife Levels are there to achieve just for fun.... but in the future, they may start unlocking special things for you... look out for news!
I'm not sure that I like this idea, not sure at all...

Re: Wildlife Levels
Of course I'm excited to see what special things will be unlocked, but I don't like the idea of 'ranks' in Fairyland.
Re: Wildlife Levels
Oh guys I love the rankings and I'm loving the new look too. And I'm glad you're on Astral, Tara - you totally deserve it with all the effort you put in. It's so funny, I'm only barely an Expert, but I made it, so I'm totally going to rest on those laurels.
Re: Wildlife Levels
where is it? I can't seem to find it.

Are you using the new layout, Emily? You need to be in that (can change over via 'preferences') in order to see them. They are on the fairy profiles under the garden level.

Aww...thanks, Liz (although I think it highlights how I spend far too much time in FL... )! Well done on being an Expert too!
I was initially disappointed at the introduction of rankings, as the FL forum is already full of bitterness over who has what and I could only see this causing greater strife. I guess my greatest fear was that some people would be less likely to stand back and let another spot a critter, despite the fact they already had several of the likely visitor (such as in your recent experience with the KF, April)!
But I have been thinking a little about it and thought maybe those on the Legendary level might be less inclined to battle for critters if they have gone as far as it goes. After all, anything that these rankings may unlock in the future would automatically become available to them (?) (Of course there are always those that do the exchange of diamonds for gold thing......unlikely to have any effect on them I guess!) I've spotted most of my wildlife using real cash (from my personal entertainment budget of course!) so am happy to stand back when a person is trying to spot their first something. In fact, I would feel terrible if I didn't and there is no pleasure in a catch like that! I have had personal experience of this unfortunately when I bowled into a garden I regularly visit, noticed it had a fresh plate and watered as I usually did. The critter was a rare one, the garden first and it wasn't until after I had spotted it that I checked the posts and the news feed...was absolutely horrified to discover someone had been regularly watering to spot the critter and they didn't have one yet! Just not worth it....

That's a good way of looking at it, and maybe it will have that effect.
I had a similar experience of watering in a garden without noticing a post from the owner on the garden wall - one particular fairy was watering regularly to catch a critter on a fresh plate. Luckily the critter wasn't there until just after I watered, but it was a close call, and I felt bad anyway.

Oh, that would be the problem. I looked for like 10 minutes on the old layout, lol. Apparently I'm talented... sweet.

Re: Wildlife Levels
I was on the other side of the fence recently in Tara's story (not the very situation, but a similar one). I had been watering in a friend's garden from the start of her new plate of food, every 15 mins or so, religiously, because I thought it might be a meerkat coming and I didn't have one. It would have been her first, and it's a VERY quiet garden. It got to 3 hours and 45 minutes and I went back for the millionth (it felt) time, only to find someone else had just swooped in and got her first meerkat. I was absolutely hopping mad and stayed that way for ages. I know that's unreasonable, but it really did make me very cross indeed! I still feel cross thinking about it now (I obviously need help!!). So now I am careful to check the newsfeed, because not everyone leaves a message if they are watering regularly and, if I'm watering as Henrietta and hoping for her first of something, I'll say, for example, "I'm after my first kiwi...d'you mind if I join in?" Not many people will say "no, go away" and then at least I've acknowledged the need to ask! The intricacies of the game..I ask you!!
Re: Wildlife Levels
Don't feel alone on that one. I sat there for 10 mins on the old layout and then started drafting a reply saying I must be mental because I couldn't see it and then accidentally clicked on something and lost what I had typed and so I thought rather than go through all that again i would check the "News" (which i always forget to do) and there is was.Emily&Dreamer wrote:Mercon wrote:Emily&Dreamer wrote:where is it? Re: Wildlife Levels
And on this watering thing - I'm such a splash and dash girl I have to apologise if I have picked up wildlife any of you have had your eye on. I am now really trying to check if someone is leaving a message every minute and not water, so thanks for the heads up.
