Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
I just want to start off with the recent screenshot of the remarkably symmetry which occurred in my garden, by pure chance, and involving two Simon Strawberries, which are supposed to be hard to come by! It's the nicest my garden has ever looked, I think, and this is the standard for the pictures I shall post...the garden will be looking as good or as interesting as, or better than, this!
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
I'm a bit behind everyone else on account of waiting for the second Simon to put in an appearance, so it was only today that I had the first spotting of a creature by someone else in my garden. Only a mouse, but I'm quite excited!
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
I'm going to have a before and after next.
Here's before:
After should be along in a week or so.

And while I wait for the birds, here are some of the more interesting animals I've found so far:
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
This is quite funny...I changed my fairy picture to a close up of my beautiful Bengal cat, Claud (he assured me he didn't mind appearing as Nicolle, he just wanted the fame and recognition), and when I spotted a mouse, he had his eye right on it:
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
I just found my first tortoise!
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
So there we all were, gathered around in my garden, waiting for the badger that we KNEW was just around the corner, and along came the first hedgehog in my garden instead! And here he is:
How many more mice have I got to entertain now, before that badger shows up, I wonder...

Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
Still on the old symmetry theme, if you ignore the platter and the Opis... I should have put the Opis in the blue bauble, really, but I have received compliments on how good it looks in the yellow one, so that's nice!
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
A quick screenshot of the chicks, for posterity!
Then they are gone and I'm back to badgers!

Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
I've had both a badger:
and a tortoise:
in my garden now, and it was especially nice that Tara spotted the tortoise!
I'm waiting till the end of this feeding tray, then I'm changing to squirrels! Finding a lop eared bunny and a red squirrel is proving a real challenge though

Red squirrel symmetry
Here I am set up for a red squirrel, but without the right bonsai....will he come? Does he prefer asymmetry?? We shall see...

Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
The red squirrel didn't come for a garden full of red flowers, but they were so pretty, and the fruits look so attractive too, I hardly mind! And I have the right bonsai coming for him in a couple of days, or maybe tomorrow, so he will be along. Here's a screenshot of the red fruits:

My last creature to be spotted, the red squirrel, turned up and was spotted today, having also turned up yesterday and been missed. Here he is:

Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
I haven't updated my journal for ages.
I am now on level 17, with all the creatures and birds spotted in other gardens, and two outstanding in my own. One is the kingfisher, and I can't get him yet because I can't grow the piscis plants. the other is the parrot, who has eluded me on 10 platters of food at various times. This is what my garden looks like, as a welcome for him:
What on earth am I doing wrong?

Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
It took 13 trays of food, but finally my parrot arrived and was spotted by my friend Vigdis:
I am very happy to have him, and so pleased to be able to harvest that rotten bonsai...I ask you, who in their right mind would put blue fruits on an orange tree?? It's the height of poor taste
Just waiting for the Opis to pay up, which should be happening any minute, then it's dragon flies for me.

Amazing! All that waiting, then another one comes along, just like buses:
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
Well, after all the waiting for the first parrot in my garden, tonight the roadrunner turned up at the very first opportunity!
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
Wanted to capture my pretty dragon flies before I harvest them:
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
My garden is waiting for a raccoon and getting ready for a kingfisher. I think it looks quite pretty right now.
Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
And here he is, spotted in my garden, by a friend:
Piscis flowers
I am very excited about these:
I hope the kingfisher doesn't take as long to come as the parrot did though!
These are all of the colours that I believe are important, but if anyone wants to tell me something different, I'll be very pleased to hear! I shall need to harvest two to move up to the next level, and plant some of the other colours, so I'd be pleased to hear which ones I should let go. I'm not in a hurry though, and I shall hang on for a while with these four when they fruit and see what happens.
I might even be tempted to put a second feeding table out, once I've got fish

Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
A kingfisher in my garden! And I think I only had to put out three trays (wasn't counting this time) before he arrived.
In case anyone is trying to work out which fish do the job, the picture isn't accurate because I harvested a violet one before I thought to take the pic. I don't think the violet fish is important to the kingfisher (that's just my opinion), but, for the record, I had red, blue and violet when he was spotted!

Re: Wildlife Wonderland, Southampton UK: Linda and Nicolle's Garden Journal
I'm worried that I'm going to get to the end of the game...it seems so much closer than it used to, and it can't go on forever.
I've had a kingfisher in my garden and now I'm growing more jewels in the hope of attracting magpies:
I'm not very keen on the next three fruits; the butterflies, cloud/heart and flying banana, but I'm really looking forward to the planets. Wouldn't it be fun if they attracted wildlife next?
