The 'Other' Board
...is getting scary!
There's so much bad feeling over there. To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if that kind of thing frightened off new faeries!
I haven't been here much - are things a bit more placid and chilled out?

Re: The 'Other' Board
I'm so glad I found this forum a very short while after I visited the Facebook board for the first time. Actually, I'm glad I didn't check out the other board earlier (seriously, I didn't even know it was there!), or else it would have made me sad and grouchy.
Re: The 'Other' Board
The other board makes me grouchy a lot. There's been a TON of complaining around there... people are never satisfied! At least some people. I've not been there for a while.
Re: The 'Other' Board
Yes but a lot of people is starting to change attitude now... there's more happiness than a couple of days ago.

or me for that matter... ahhh.
i was well tempted to make one of these emoticon things like an exploding fairy, thought that would be so funny, in a grim kind of way (of course it would be tastefully done), but i could get the disposable layers to work for me as animations:(
i know who will know though, so maybe next month^_^
(severely off-topic).
back on here though, i saw a topic "one nice week please", i posted a smile while thinking about that song from Oliver, i had it stuck in my head all day and managed to shake it out just before reopening the topic and seeing the words there for me, and so it went on:/
that was a bit much^_^ thanks, i've done it again now.

Re: The 'Other' Board
Yeah. I think some people are looking at the negativeness and thinking that that ISN'T what's supposed to be there. I'm still hiding there... limiting myself visiting the discussion boards...
Re: The 'Other' Board
Hello there...I've had my garden a little while now, and am level 10 now. I have to say that I keep an eye on the other discussion board, and occasionally post reply's or ask questions, but I agree with what people have been saying in that it all got rather nasty over there for a while. Not very nice at all. It does seem to have clamed down a bit now though, so thats good
I hadn't realised that this forum existed and am really glad I found it
So a massive thanks to all of you that have set it up. It takes alot of work, and I for one really appreciate it.
I shall enjoy coming here..its nice and friendly, and full of like minded people.
Thanks and fairy blessings and magic to you all xxx

Re: The 'Other' Board
Yeah, I just read through one thread that started as a lovely gesture by one fairy, and has continued with one fairy getting out of control and (in my opinion) attacking other people I'm glad that evilness has not crept over to this forum- and I pray it never does.southpaw179 wrote:Went on the discussion board to check out things..yikes there is so much complaining and people fighting its unbelievable...thanks for setting up this one
Re: The 'Other' Board
I have noticed your absence I was just on there & have come to the same conclusion...will stay away for a while. Turning to more pleasant things, I'm looking forward to the Loveflower blooming, hopefully its a Rainbow Heart!Naughty Gingerbread Ninja wrote:I'm not going back there in a while...

Re: The 'Other' Board
I think the other board is ok if you just ignore some parts of it. Arguments are usually between a handful of people and at the moment most of the threads are quite positive - I had to do a bit of searching before realising what you were talking about.
I hope we will never have bad arguments here but at the same time I'm quite positive that eventually there will be some. We're only communicating with written text and some additional emoticons here so things like facial expressions, tones of voice and body language are automatically left out making room for misinterpretations. Also when you're facing a computer screen instead of a human face it's easier to forget your manners and just blurt out whatever it is you want to say. If your opponent is offended and acts based on that feeling you'll be soon in a destructive argument.
Another thing that gives me reason to assume we will have fights (or heated arguments if you prefer ) here is that I believe that the core of my being is similar to everyone else's. I'm a human as well and therefore no better; if other people can be petty or selfish or whatever then I can be as well - no matter if I'm writing here or on the other board.
(I've been asking myself lately if - given the right circumstances - I could kill someone. I think if I'm being honest the answer is yes - but this is starting to be a bit off topic... )
Anyway, when we'll have arguments, I hope it won't be that big of a surprise that we begin to feel that something is wrong with the forum itself. There's nothing wrong in taking a break though; negative feelings are highly contagious and sometimes you're just happier if you don't know everything.
Just wanted to add this here, it's got nothing to do with my feelings as I'm quite happy. It's just my favourite and I never get to use it...

Re: The 'Other' Board
Perhaps I've been hardened from other forums, blogs, but I haven't noticed a really bad atmosphere on the DB. It would help if, when people mention arguments, they would name the thread or link to one, so we can see what is meant and try to avoid getting too heated - what is a good discussion for some people is an argument for others. I would hate to think that I'd said something which was taken the wrong way by someone.
I've noticed a slight tendency towards competitiveness among some Fairies, but this is perhaps human nature. It really shouldn't matter whose flower opens first, or who has the last of a limited edition plant. I suppose we all play the game in our own way, and for some, levelling up fast or getting the first new plant is important. For others it really doesn't matter. Similarly, complaining is bound to happen. For instance some people think gold and diamonds are far too difficult to get hold of. I think this way about diamonds when I am not finding many, but then I will find several and be really cheerful! I do think that if one wants to visit lots of gardens and water plants there, one has to buy gold.
Abby - don't give up on the DB!

Re: The 'Other' Board
I was referring to this one and on my scale it's an argument: http://www.new.facebook.com/board.php?uid=6956662042#/topic.php?uid=6956662042&topic=12220
Sorry that I didn't mention it straight away. Usually when things are spoken without wanting to name anyone, people start asking if it's them who've done something - and my experience is that the ones who start asking first are usually the innocent ones, so the method kind of backfires...
I share your feeling that the common atmosphere on the DB isn't that bad. I try to concentrate on what is good and ignore the rest.

Hi Anne. I enjoy reading your topics and responses as I usually feel pretty much the same as you do and this is no exception. I think we'll probably have arguments on here too, but that's just human nature after all. As long as we're all accepting and mature enough to recognise what's going on I reckon we'll be ok. I love this group and I think on the whole this game attracts people who are probably a lot alike, so when we fight it's like brothers and sisters fighting, and hopefully when we make up we can all go down to dinner friends again.
I am still curious though about the post you are talking about. Unfortunately the post link goes to the top of the board so by the time I got there the post had moved Do you have the topic number? I hate to seem morbid, but I'm just so darn curious now
Re: The 'Other' Board
Sorry Liz, I forgot to double-check the link. I edited the post, it should be fine now.
Re: The 'Other' Board
Is anyone here?
Well, Im out of "the other place", cant stand any more what is going on there, specially after I was told to get out and most of you know that my posts NEVER attack or harrass people. I feel hurt and stupid for feeling hurt for what people said in a discussion board.
Just that.... anyone here???

Re: The 'Other' Board
Words can hurt, whether said face to face or on a discussion board. You don't need to feel stupid because of your feelings. I haven't seen you writing anything that could be interpreted as an attack and don't really know what has happened... I hope you don't feel too bad about it too long, what was said was probably just the opinion of an individual and not the common view. I'd be sad if I saw you leaving the other board for good.

Thanks for your sweet words, but I dont think I can go back. I understand that some people is probably mixing their personal problems with Fairyland, but Im not there to look for arguments (I do have enough in real life). The only reason I go there is to help others, I might just go to the ones that need answers, without getting involved. I really did have enough.
Thanks again.
