3 gold snails

Have you noticed that sometimes when you find a garden snail and turn it into gold you get 3 gold instead of the usual 2? I've tried to look for a note telling that the amount of gold you get from them varies a bit more now but I haven't found anything so far

Yes Anne, I definitely get 3 gold from time to time, so I'm sure it's normal. But OMG, you're not going to believe this - about a week ago a snail gave me 10 gold! I thought it must be a missprint, but sure enough my gold went up by 10. I was dumbfounded. I thanked the fairy who's garden provided it, but I didn't know if it was worth mentioning anywhere else - I assumed it would never happen again. And so far it hasn't (well, not to me), but I'm watching out.

yeah that's right, they can be turned into 2, 3, 5 or 10 Gold^_^

Wow, I never thought those little things could be worth ten gold! Better keep my eyes open in case they show up.

Somehow I always feel a little bad when I'm turning them into gold though... The snails look always so happy and friendly! Perhaps if Mike would make them look more vicious I didn't have any problems...

I've heard that if you have snails in your real life garden you've got two options in getting rid of them: either boil them or halve them with scissors. My aunt used to have huge snails in her garden, about 10-15 cm long and really fat - getting rid of them must have been an ugly scene...

Now my head is full of some lovely images - thanks! While we're at it, I have always been told the way to kill snails is to pour salt over them - it dessicates their slimy bodies. I have actually seen some mean person do it and it made my stomach churn. I prefer giving them the quick crunch of the boot myself. It would be much nicer all round if they would all just turn into gold like decent snails should.

i thought the same too, make 'em look angry perhaps or have them with some plant hanging from their chops, Grrr^_^

Actually, seriously, I was thinking, "they're just these cute little snailies trying to LIVE!!!" Come on Mike, make them uglier!

But then people would complain.

Although I have no problem to spread a little magic on a virtual snail - and I've always set them free in alchemy

Haha - I've always been quite ruthless with any virtual animal willing to give me gold or diamonds, but I never thought of it as being ruthless. I thought of it more as being entrepreneurial. And it never says anything bad happens to the animals. I mean Mike doesn't say "crush this poor defensless snail and wipe him from the surface of fariyland", he says "Turn the snail into gold" - no harm in that. I'm sure what really happens, but we just don't see it, is that the snail gets a nice gold brocade hat and a gold painted snail shell and in return gives us some coins and then he goes off to a party.

Snails are terrible in the real garden. They eat anything tender and juicy, so annuals like pansies and petunias, longer lived things like gerberas - you can't grow these things without sprinkling with snail bait. So I don't tend to grow them any more - better to not fight nature if you can avoid it.

I must be watering flowers wrong - i've only ever recieved 2 gold from a snail

It's just a matter of luck, perhaps there's a 3 gold snail waiting for you in the next garden you water.

Now that I have all 10 Elixirs, every snail I find is a 5-gold one.
But ... I just found a 10-gold one! My very first, I think. I was astonished -- and very grateful!

wow! I didn't even realize that having the 10 Elixirs would have anything to do with finding 5-gold-snails! I wondered if they upvalued *LOL!*

Has anyone else noticed that your snails seem to make more gold if it's a garden you frequent more often?

I regularly visit 2 or 3 gardens, and I seem to get much wealthier snails there than anywhere else.
