Re: competition Question
Or then we might end up guessing male children's books authors for days without hitting the right answer... You know, it might be something we've got no clue about. I've spent many hours on a site that has information about different writing systems. It was fascinating - but was no help with this one... I'm beginning to think that Marmaduke has invented this himself or made a combination of several already existing ones. If he invented it, there must be a key to it somewhere, or it has a logic that can be found if you just keep looking at it. If he didn't invent it, the writing system (or its parts) should be found somewhere in the web... But then again all my so called good guesses could be wrong...

I thought of her too after someone suggested Moominpappa - but then thought that the person we're trying to find here was male...
Re: competition Question
Ah ... I did not know it was a man we were looking for
Like you ... I just saw 'Moomin' and thought of Tove

Re: competition Question
Well, of course I can't be sure that it really is a man... I'm just founding my assumption on the clue #2:
I thought there were actually two clues here: that he has no relation to the app AND the gender. On the other hand I'm not sure if the word "he" can sometimes be used without specifying the gender; English is not my native tongue so I might lose a lot of nuances... Finnish pronouns are always the same whether it's a man or a woman you're talking about so I might hear the difference between he and she a little too loud.

Re: competition Question
All right... Now that we know it's not a woman there's not a lot of options left, right... Just about half of the humankind, Not to mention all the fictional characters that haven't been ruled out yet...
Maybe it's just somebody who likes to wear top hats - Scrooge McDuck perhaps? No, I'm clueless, and my math books are calling me...

Re: competition Question
Is it maybe 'Mel Gibson' or 'M. Night Shyamalan'

And only when I went back to the question to look at it again, did I remember clue number 3:
Marmaduke wrote:3) the most significant similarity between this person and Moominpappa is that they are both male and have both appeared on television.
no ideas.

no ideas.
The third clue was added after my quoted message, we know now it's a man for sure. No ideas here either; Dr. Snuggles perhaps?
Re: competition Question
It might help, Marmaduke, if it's not cheeky of me to suggest it, if you would do the old "warm", "cold", "red hot" type of thing in response to our guesses. Then we'd know which route to pursue. If this is ever going to end. If you want it ever to end...
Re: competition Question
good idea, i think i'll do that^_^nicolle wrote:It might help, Marmaduke, if it's not cheeky of me to suggest it, if you would do the old "warm", "cold", "red hot"...
although i will only be answering on the guess of person right?
also i'm not entirely sure who's hotter out of say, Harry Potter or Dr. Emmet Brown, but here goes.
let's include the previous six guesses...

don't know but i'm guessing that that's seriously ice-age type coldSuef wrote:Dr. Snuggles
warmer than Dr. Snuggles^_^Mercon wrote:Alfred Hitchcock
is that the way it works? err, i didn't count them so i don't know if that's six either, err, sorry:( i reckon if you get Mel Gibson and Alfred Hitchcock to have a mongrel child then the result will probably be the warmest yet^_^ but that's the way i see it...

Re: competition Question
I really don't like the idea of Alfred Hitchcock and Mel Gibson having a child....but I'm pleaaed you took the idea on board anyway!
Re: competition Question
hmm, well, i'm not sure as ever but i'd say Rolf Harris is warmer then Rod Hull, yes i'm pretty certain that that makes sense.
i think you've got the right sort of hair in mind there (grey)^_^

nope, he is i'm sure, older than 70 though, actually, as far as i'm concerned, there is a passing resemblance there, though i'm sure everyone else will deny it...
