Re: Fairy Names
I always wanted to take a closer look at your picture... I saw just something little, brown and angry.
Well, my fairy's name is Alice, and I simply like the book - Alice in Wonderland, it's a beautiful name too If I have a daughter one day, I'll name her Alice.

Re: Fairy Names
Talula is the name of a Tori Amos song and it just seemed like a good fairy name.

Re: Fairy Names
When I was a kid I made up a story of a far away land where people had their own unicorns and mine was called Stardust. That is why I called my fairy Stardust
I was shocked to see so many other Stardust fairies out there, I guess I wasn't so original LOL!

LOL! Little, brown, and angry... those facebook pictures don't allow for much detail, don't they?
(wow, I already see familiar fairies!)
I'm the Naughty Gingerbread Ninja. Always will be. BWAHAHAHAHA
Re: Fairy Names
I named my fairy Dreamer, because I normally daydream in class all the time instead of paying attention, lol.

Re: Fairy Names
My fairy is Beautifly because I'm Beautiful like a Butterfly . Hi Abby! How did you come up with your fairy name? Are you naughty, like eating gingerbread & secretly a ninja who wants to be a fairy? *giggle* Hi Ronald! Do you like Red Dwarf? Into English humour? From your posts on the DB I just figure you would be. This is my first time on one of these (forum?) things, its exciting!!

I am naughty, like gingerbread, and a ninja... haha. You're right. Actually the whole story is that I wanted a name and couldn't think of one, had a short contest, and someone said, "what about the Naughty Gingerbread Ninja Fairy?" She said it was because my picture was small (curse facebook) and thought it was a gingerbread cookie instead of a wookiiee.

Re: Fairy Name
My naming process was pretty boring really:-
Tiger - My absolute Favourite Animal (I had have one at home if I could)!!
Lily's - One of My favourite Flowers (Gerbera's are my number 1 but it didn't quite work with Tiger)
Hence Tiger Lily
Told you it was boring!!!

Re: Fairy Names
My fairy name is Aedaria!
A friend of mine made it up for me, said it suited me. But I feel like it suits my fairy better.
She is most certainly an Aedaria, beautiful yet deadly!

Re: Fairy Names
Well... I have always liked the name Amarantha. I saw it for the first time reading a book from Gabriel Garcia Lorca many years ago, but when I was looking for a new name for my fairy (she used to be Rainbowweb) I saw it in a list of witches' names and this time I had the meaning too (my fairy is a bit of a witch)
AMARANTHA
Gender: Feminine
Usage: Various
From the name of the amaranth flower, which is derived from Greek αμαραντος (amarantos) meaning "unfading". Αμαραντος (Amarantos) was also an Ancient Greek given name.
So that's the story.

Re: Fairy Names
When I chose my original Fairyland fairy picture it looked like she was made of tiny pieces of stars all lit up - hence starlight! I think lots of others thought that too

Re: Fairy Names
I named my fairy Lucinda because I think it is a very pretty name ... and very fairy-like. (But I can't remember if I had any particular inspiration for it. )
I have found one other Lucinda so far - I'm sure there are plenty more out there!

Re: Fairy names
Tanidario is a name I came across in a book I read rather long ago. I can't remember the name of the book, but I think it was written by Catherine Kerr! From what I can remember that Tanidario was an elf, I think she was a hunter as far as I know. She wasn't even one of the main characters - I think she was only mentioned two or three times in the book, but for some reason the name stuck, and seemed to be a good fairy name as well!

Re: Fairy Names
Called her Indigo cos i always wanted to call my daughter Indigo...(i called her Gabriella in the end as everyone thought she would be bullied at school with that name)....so my fairy covers that need of mine to have a 'living thing' out there with her name. I also love the colour....
